Sistemas de armas letales autónomas: ¿un riesgo que vale la pena tomar?

Uno de los debates más acalorados que se han dado en los últimos años en el seno de la Comunidad Internacional, tiene que ver con el futuro de los sistemas de armas letales autónomas. La principal preocupación que generan estas armas está dada por la incertidumbre respecto a su capacidad para cumplir de un modo acabado no solo con las normas de Derecho Internacional Humanitario, sino también con principios fundamentales del Derecho Internacional de los Derechos Humanos. A través de los argumentos esgrimidos tanto por los defensores como por los opositores del desarrollo y/o uso de estas armas, me propongo analizar los beneficios y los riesgos que estas conllevan y, en último término, hacer un balance de ellos.
