Abstract

In this article, the author analyses the child protection systems implemented
by the Latin-American states after the adoption of several children’s rights international documents. The author points out that, even though the old protection system
based on an unjustified discrimination approach was indeed reformed, the legislative
reforms, have not yet achieve the full realization of economic, social and cultural rights
of children.
