Abstract

The human rights linked to people's work - in their labor and social protection dimensions - have been established in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDDDHH) as well as in the universal and regional human rights treaties. Regarding that, the States have a duty to generate the conditions that make it possible, without prejudice - as in the case of benefit rights - to the exceptional situations that arise. However, several variables seriously affected its effective exercise, especially affecting the right to (decent) work. One of the greatest difficulties lies in the informal economy. Different initiatives of international labor legislation promote the transition to the formal economy looking for the application of measures that allow those who are relegated to the informality to join a minimum right.
